Tokara continues the quest for taiko originality with our all-new project called the “Spice Rack Project.”
     Using the imagery of a collaboration between Taiko and food in a fun and unique process, Tokara creates an introduction of a piece as the “stock” base. Participants will be able to learn the “stock” base and then together add the ingredients and spices which will give life to the composition.

     This new style of workshop sets each participant as both student and composer…an equal partner in the creation of a new performance piece.  The end result is not simply a piece created by a group and taught to participants, but rather a piece which belongs to each and every participant, and includes the imagination and passion of the whole group.

     Because the piece will be a creation of each participant, it will automatically become fully open to rehearse, perform and further teach by all composers of the piece during the project.

• Accommodation is not included. We are able to help with booking accommodation once registration and payment is complete.
  Please note that planned accommodation through Tokara would be at a hotel close to the workshop venue.
  Hotel fees approximately 35,000yen per person (single room) for four nights.
