About the Taiko Intensive
Join us for a three-day intensive workshop which will take place in Iida City, Nagano Prefecture, at the foot of the Kazakoshi Mountain.

During this workshop, participants will learn one of Tokara's original performance pieces, as well as several original drills and training by Tokara members.

“Kazakoshi” is the mountain wind which flows across the mountaintop of Mt. Kazakoshi, bringing a billowing mist into the Inadani valley from which we gather our strength and determination to share throughout the world.

Throughout 2013 and 2014, Wadaiko Tokara toured throughout 15 countries, bringing with us the spirit of "Kazakoshi" during hundreds of performances and workshops.


About Tokara
Wadaiko TOKARA is an artistically creative taiko drum group from Japan, critically acclaimed for their uniquely jazzy and exciting style of taiko music. Since the groups inception, Tokara tours three to four times a year in Asia, Europe, and North America as well as making regular appearances at some of the top Taiko performances all over Japan.

In addition to international touring, Tokara has created a unique education program of bringing Taiko enthusiasts and groups to Japan for various types of training. The group annually produces the Saiwai Shimoina Wadaiko Festival, as well as two award-winning intensive education programs; the INADANI Taiko Drumming Course for beginners/intermediate taiko enthusiasts and the TOKARA Wadaiko Bootcamp for intermediate/advanced practitioners.
